What does treatment involve?

Treatment will start with a comprehensive, individual evaluation, which includes reviewing your medical history and ensuring that evidence based psychotherapy is appropriate for you. This evaluation will last 60 minutes.  By the end of this evaluation, we will work together to start forming goals and a treatment plan collaboratively. My goals are to use your strengths and resilience, combined with my expertise, to result in successful outcomes and gaining the skills you need to continue to succeed.

After the evaluation treatment can either be in an individual or group format.  Individual treatment will typically last 3-6 sessions  to reach better quality sleep.  If your treatment goals involve more than improving sleep, additional sessions may be needed and will be discussed during the intake and as treatment progresses. Individual sessions will last 45-50 minutes. Group therapy may also be available for CBT-I would involve 5 group sessions and each group will last 75-90 minutes.

Will my insurance pay for treatment?

Dr. Gress Smith is considered an "out of network" provider.  You will be provided with  appropriate paperwork to submit to your insurance company or FSA for reimbursement for out of network services.

Session fees are:
  • $200 for the initial evaluation
  • $160 for 45-50 minute individual sessions
  • $100 per group session

Why out of network?

Insurance companies reimbursement rates are often prohibitive for the amount of time Dr. Gress Smith prefers to spend with patients to provide detailed assessment and care.  Out of network status claims are often reimbursed 50-100%. The correct paperwork and support will be provided help you file your claim.  It may be helpful to contact your insurance provider and inquire about out of network reimbursement rates.
